Field Round
The Field round consists of 28 targets in total. It is based on 2 units of 14 unique targets set at varying marked distances ranging from 20 feet up to 80 yards. 4 arrows are shot at each target. Targets are black and white circular paper faces.
Hunter Round
The Hunter round consists of 28 targets in total. It is based on 2 units of 14 unique targets set at varying marked distances ranging from 11 up to 70 yards. 4 arrows are shot at each target. Targets are black and white circular paper faces.
Marked Animal (MA)
The Marked Animal (MA) round is shot using known distances. It consists of 28 targets based on 2 units of 14 targets with distances ranging from 10 to 60 yards. Each unit comprises of 3 Group 1, 3 Group 2, 4 Group 3 and 4 Group 4 targets. The Group size indicates the size of the target (Group 1 being the largest).
Targets are normally paper (pictures) but a 3D foam model of an animal may also be used.
A maximum of three shots is allowed, but an archer only shoots until they hit the target. If the first arrow hits the scoring area no more arrows need to be shot.
Unmarked Animal Round (UAR)
The Unmarked Animal Round (UAR) uses unknown distances. The round consists of 28 targets, based on the same Group ratio as the Marked Distance round with distances set between 10 to 60 yards. The archer needs to judge the distance to the target themselves.
Targets are normally a 3D foam model of an animal but paper targets can be used instead.
A maximum of three shots is allowed, but an archer only shoots until they hit the target. If the first arrow hits the scoring area no more arrows need to be shot.
Standard Big Game (SBG)
The Standard Big Game (SBG) consists of 36 targets in total. It is based on 2 units of 18 unique targets ranging from 10 to 60 yards. Whist the distances are unknown the range is laid to set distance parameters based on the group sizes within the unit (4 Group 1, 4 Group 2, 5 Group 3 and 5 Group 4 targets).
Targets can be either all paper (pictures) or all 3D foam models of animal or may be a hybrid, where targets are 50/50 (paper and 3D).
A maximum of three shots is allowed whereby archers ‘walk-up’ to the next peg to take their shot. An archer only shoots until they hit the target. If the first arrow hits the scoring area no more arrows need to be shot.
IFAA 3-D Hunting Round (1 Arrow)
The 3-D Hunting Round consists of 28 targets at varying unmarked distances between 10 to 60 yards. The archer needs to judge the distance to the target themselves. Targets are normally a 3D foam model of an animal but paper targets can be used as well. A maximum of one shot is allowed.
IFAA 3-D Standard Round (2 Arrows)
The 3-D Standard Round consists of 28 targets at varying unmarked distances between 10 to 60 yards. The archer needs to judge the distance to the target themselves. Targets are normally a 3D foam model of an animal but paper targets can be used as well. The archer shoots 2 arrows at each target both arrows are scoring arrows.
International Round
The International round consists of 20 targets, comprising of 2 units of 10 unique shots, at varying marked distances between 20 to 65 yards. 3 arrows are shot at each target. Targets are are the same as those used in the Hunter round (black with a white centre spot).
Expert Field Round
The Expert field round consists of 28 targets in total. It is based on 2 units of 14 unique targets set at varying marked distances ranging from 20 feet up to 80 yards. 4 arrows are shot at each target. Targets are black and white circular paper faces. The Expert Field round is exactly the same as the Field round except that the scoring rings are broken down into more granular scores (5 to 1 versus 5 to 3).
Flint Indoor Round
The Flint indoor round consists of 14 ends of 4 arrows shot at various marked distances between 20 ft to 30 yards. The targets are the same as 50cm, 35cm and 20cm Field faces. Everyone shoots from the shooting line making this round suitable for both indoor and outdoor ranges.
IFAA Indoor Round
The IFAA indoor round consists of 12 ends of 5 arrows shot at 20 yards. Targets are blue and white circular paper faces. The round is held in a hall with everyone shooting together in a line.
